Dazzleship

Dazzleship camouflage was created by Norman Wilkinson during WW1 to help reduce the chances of a successful attack by German U boats on merchant and naval ships. Instead of camouflage to blend the ship into its surroundings, the bold geometric patterns makes it difficult for enemies to identify key features so they would find it harder to determine which way the vessel was going, important for making an accurate shot. I paint dazzleship patterns and white geometric shapes which I see as prisms to view the images beneath.
